About the Practice

Drew Brown IV, MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic spine surgeon serving the greater Tampa community focusing on treating conditions of the spine primarily through conservative measures and minimally invasive surgical techniques. Using his extensive knowledge obtained while in medical school, orthopaedic residency and spine fellowship, Dr. Brown addresses disc herniations, spinal stenosis, radiculopathy and degenerative conditions. Dr. Brown also treats an array of other issues, including scoliosis, revision surgery, fractures, osteoporosis, dislocations, and many other orthopaedic conditions. Minimally invasive spine surgery and complex spinal reconstructions/revisions are his areas of surgical expertise.

Dr. Brown is committed to providing an in-depth explanation of each patients’ diagnosis and a thorough discussion of potential treatment options and tailored recommendations. Dr. Brown stresses the importance of using surgery as a last resort and while he primarily utilizes non-surgical care, operative intervention may be recommended when non-surgical measures are otherwise unsuccessful. Often, patients find relief using conservative measures such as physical therapy, spinal injections or non-narcotic analgesic medicine. Dr. Brown may also provide back and neck bracing to support a patient's spine depending on their condition.

Dr. Brown stresses the importance of exercise and lifestyle choices on a person’s overall health, especially in regard to spine issues. As a previous collegiate basketball player, he is a strong advocate for his patients’ ongoing fitness and healthy lifestyle parameters, such as dietary optimization.

When indicated, Dr. Brown will perform surgery implementing minimally invasive techniques utilizing either a decompression, spinal fusion or combination thereof.  Patients seeking treatment for scoliosis may require a more complex treatment plan.

Dr. Brown warmly welcomes new patients seeking relief from back and neck pain to his practice in Wesley Chapel, Florida with more locations to come in the near future.
